Tuesday Weld plays a vulnerable woman who escapes the pressures of New York life into a dream world, courtesy of a magician (Orson Welles).
There’s a low-budget feel to this, director Henry Jaglom’s first release, and indeed it was filmed at his parent’s flat, with the cast largely made up of his pals.
However, it gives the impression of having been a labour of love. Jack Nicholson is good value as Weld’s old lover.
A fantasy which is wildly incoherent or poetically experimental, depending on your tastes.
