Pop Gear (1965)

There was no plot or story here, just a collection of lip-synched videos in colour from some of the bands that were part of the British Invasion in 1964.

Bands such as The Animals (House Of The Rising Sun and Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood), Herman’s Hermits (I’m Into Something Good), The Honeycombs (Have I The Right?), Billy J Kramer and The Dakotas (Little Children), The Rockin’ Berries (He’s In Town) and the Spencer Davis Group (My Babe) were featured in a music video format two decades ahead of its time.

The film also featured bookend live performances by The Beatles performing She Loves You and Twist And Shout.

The original US title was Go Go Mania.
