The Crow is a dark-avenger fantasy from a comic which – despite a cartoonish script – presents a sombre, exciting and visually stunning story of Eric Draven (Brandon Lee), a murdered rock star who returns from the dead to settle the score.
Bruce Lee’s son Brandon was a brooding presence in the film. Tragically he was killed in a shooting accident on the set after a prop gun that inexplicably contained a live bullet was fired at him.
The movie was completed with the latest in sophisticated digital compositing techniques, creating new scenes from available footage of Lee, whose death at the age of 28 undeniably added to the macabre lure of The Crow.
A crew member was also badly burned by a power cable on the first day of shooting, another crew member pierced his own hand with a screwdriver and the set was destroyed by a storm.
