A haunted harpsichord causes bloody deaths during the bicentennial of the small New England town of Ludlow.
The instrument has been sent all the way from England by a descendant of the town’s original founder, Ephraim Ludlow. Cue a series of ghosts in pilgrim attire who have turned up to seek revenge for events that occurred hundreds of years ago.
The local preacher (Paul von Hausen) and a writer called Debra (Stephanie Cushna) investigate as the townspeople begin to die and disappear.
The acting from a cast of unknowns is terrible, the story is plodding and padded to the point of boredom, and the production values bring a whole new meaning to the word “cheap”. It’s not scary, it’s not funny, it’s not even cheesy. It’s just a very badly made movie.
The Demons of Ludlow was filmed in Wisconsin at about the same time as The Devonsville Terror, which had a similar plot and some of the same production people.
Patricia J Statz – who played the mentally handicapped Emily in the film – died in the 9/11 terrorist attack on the Pentagon in 2001.
