In the Cornish village of Fowey lives Albert Pascoe (Donald Houston), a young fisherman who sometimes indulges in his favourite pastime of poaching.
One day he becomes involved with dangerous foreign agents from behind the Iron Curtain (Anton Diffring and Alan Cuthbertson).
This was one of the meatiest of doyenne actress Fay Compton’s latter-day roles as Albert’s mother, Alice (pictured).
As British B-movies go, it’s a pleasant, if unremarkable, time-waster with a surprisingly brutal fight at the climax between Houston and the baddies.
A young Robert Shaw has a very small part as a policeman named Ernest.
