Ruthless criminal Red Lynch (Ross Martin) launches a campaign of terror against bank teller Kelly Sherwood (Lee Remick) and her younger sister, Toby (Stefanie Powers) to compel Kelly to embezel $100,000 from her bank.
The FBI agent on the case is Jack Ripley (Glenn Ford) who performs all the required functions of the shoulder-holstered hero.
The climactic scene takes place in Candlestick Park during a night baseball game between the Giants and the Dodgers with the killer shooting it out from the pitcher’s mound and the hero in a helicopter.
