Demi Moore plays Lieutenant Jordan O’Neil, a naval intelligence officer who becomes the first woman to train with the macho Navy SEALs as part of a government experiment.
Determined to survive the punishing training programme and to earn the respect of the men around her, she encounters numerous obstacles to her goal – not least sadistic instructor Master Chief John Urgayle (Viggo Mortensen).
There are lots of lingering shots of a very buff Moore flexing muscles, shaving her head and kicking male butt in between impressively co-ordinated training scenes.
But while Moore built up her body she forgot to spend equal time on her acting skills for this high-on-testosterone, low-on-brains action film from director Ridley Scott.
