Director Jack Cardiff adapted the erotic novel La Motorcyclette with prototype rich waif Marianne Faithfull as young French housewife, Rebecca, seething with a masochistic obsession for sadistic lover Daniel (Alain Delon), who chats her up with lines like “your toes are like tombstones” and “your body is like a violin in a velvet case”.
Bored with her new husband, horny hog-riding adulteress Rebecca strips down and zips on the skin-tight black leather jumpsuit Daniel gave her as a wedding present, then jumps on her Norton to ride to Germany to get it on with him.
