In 1965 and 1966, Manchester group Herman’s Hermits were second only to The Beatles in popularity in the US, and they were offered their first starring role in a pop musical movie.
Herman and the boys are touring America when NASA offers them the chance of having a spaceship named after them.
Wacky adventures ensue and the boys and their chipmunk-like singer (Peter Noone) play eleven songs, including the superior She’s A Must To Avoid. Shelley Fabares plays the poor little rich girl who gets to meet Herman.
This film was also known as There’s No Place Like Space.
