This spirited sequel to Romancing The Stone (1984) had Jack Colton (Michael Douglas) once again doing his very best Indiana Jones impersonation alongside romance novelist Joan Wilder (Kathleen Turner), braving heat, dust, camels, machine guns and homicidal tribes in North Africa to save a holy man from the clutches of an evil potentate.
Danny De Vito brightened up the film (as he always does) and Kathleen Turner is never less than gorgeous, whether dangling from speeding trains or flinging herself into sexy Nubian fertility dances with wild abandon.
Cornier and less thrilling than its predecessor, fortunately, the cast managed to make entertaining fare of this movie despite the shrill direction from Lewis Teague.
