Tony Manetta (Frank Sinatra) is a Miami Beach hotel owner and widower.
To save his business – the Garden of Eden – he needs $5,000.
His elder brother, Mario (Edward G. Robinson) refuses to advance a loan and even his nice old buddy from wartime days, Jerry Marks (Keenan Wynn) turns out to be a thoroughly bad egg when it comes to signing a cheque for one of Tony’s brainwaves.
But no matter. There are still a lot of laughs around. Tony has a 12-year-old son (Eddie Hodges) to keep him smiling and singing.
There’s also a beautiful widow (Eleanor Parker) who is on his side.
