    Mole People, The (1956)

A team of explorers, led by Dr Roger Bentley (John Agar) and Dr Jud Bellamin (Hugh Beaumont) discover a race of strange creatures living beneath an Asian mountain.

Pulled down through sandpits and captured by the Mole People our heroes are about to be offered up for sacrifice by an underground civilisation of albino Sumerians – the masters of the Mole People – when they are helped to escape by a pretty underground-dweller called Adad (Cynthia Patrick).

Shot in 17 days with cheaper than usual sets and make-up, it’s all very predictable.

The unintentionally funny prologue – a sombre lecture by Dr Frank C. Baxter on the possibilities of such a stupid story being true – was shot late in the day to pad out the too-short running time.
