    Cauldron of Blood (1968)

Boris Karloff appeared in his last major role in this Spanish production as blind sculptor Franz Badulescu who models his work on skeletons provided for him by his wife, Tania (Viveca Lindfors) and her thuggish lover, Shanghai (Milo Quesada).

How do they obtain the skeletons? They murder people just for their human framework.

French journalist Claude Marchand (Jean-Pierre Aumont) arrives to interview Badulescu for a magazine, but when his girlfriend Valerie (Rosenda Monteros) stumbles across the body of the latest victim and is abducted, he must rush to her rescue before she too is stripped of her flesh in Tania’s acid-filled cauldron.

Pleasing eye candy is provided by tasty blonde Elga (Dyanik Zurakowska) and mute housemaid Pilar (Jacqui Speed).

Filmed over several years and completed in 1968, this enjoyable slice of low-budget Euro-nonsense did not make it into cinemas until 1970, a year after Karloff’s death.

Released as Blind Man’s Bluff in some markets.
