North to Alaska (1960)

Sam McCord (John  Wayne) and George Pratt (Stewart Granger in his final Hollywood film) strike gold in Alaska and George sends Sam to Seattle to buy mining equipment and bring George’s long-suffering French fiancée back to Alaska.

Sam finds she is already married and returns instead with a French prostitute called “Angel” (Frech supermodel, Capucine).

After trying to get George and Angel together, Sam finally romances Angel himself, who – in the meantime – is busy fighting off the comedic advances of George’s younger brother, Billy (Fabian).

Frankie Canon (Ernie Kovacs) is a con man trying to steal the duo’s gold claim.

North To Alaska is a loud, large, noisy and funny film.
