This Is My Street (1964)

Pretty Marge Graham (June Ritchie) has lived in Jubilee Terrace, South London, all her life and is trapped in the drudgery of a dead-end marriage to Sid (Mike Pratt) and bored to death with her life (she sells handbags in a department store).

Things change when handsome bad boy Harry King (Ian Hendry) moves in next door as a lodger with Marge’s mother. Harry runs a strip club and is a nasty, seedy piece of work but he offers Marge a vision of freedom and love.

Unfortunately, Marge proves “too intense” for randy Harry after he’s had his way with her, so he moves on to her sister, Jinny (Annette Andre) instead.

Despite just becoming engaged, Jinny can’t resist Harry’s oily charms either – but Margie has a ring side seat to the goings-on and is driven to suicide.
