Hogan (Jack Lemmon), a lecherous landlord who lives in a flat that might have been designed by Edgar Allan Poe, runs the Centaur apartment house whose tenants are all female, and whose doors are unlocked by heart-shaped keys.
Imagine the consternation of the rogue when blonde college girl Robin Austin (Carol Lynley) moves in to live platonically with her fiance Dave Manning (Dean Jones) to see if they are compatible.
The situation is plainly untenable, and the only question is; who will break down the bedroom door first – the landlord or the fiance?
A keenly observed bit of character work by Lemmon highlights this good adult comedy.
