Force Ten From Navarone (1978)

This routine (albeit much belated) sequel to The Guns Of Navarone (1961) had commandos planning to sabotage a bridge in Yugoslavia to thwart the Nazis.

The crack squad of soldiers is hindered by leaked information and the unit’s leader begins to suspect that someone among them is a double agent.

Director Guy Hamilton’s uninspired movie begins with the climax of the earlier film, then spends an inordinate amount of time before reaching its own explosive finale. Fans of the James Bond series (and The Spy Who Loved Me, in particular) may recognise Barbara Bach and Richard Kiel in supporting roles.

The movie was significant in that it featured Harrison Ford in his first ever starring role.
