This time our rookie cops try to involve the local community in order to prevent crime. However, their efforts are thwarted by an envious Captain Harris who is determined to scupper the plans of the group which has caused him so much trouble in the past.
This is probably the only Police Academy sequel worth watching – not, of course, because it’s any good, but because it gives us the opportunity to watch a pre-Basic Instinct (1992) Sharon Stone stranded down the cast list with the thankless role of star Steve Guttenberg’s girlfriend.
By now Guttenberg was in search of better things and does little more here than go through the motions. So the best gags go to George Gaynes as the feeble-minded commander who finds himself training an even crazier bunch of recruits when citizens are encouraged to become part-time policemen.
