    Rocky III (1982)

Three years after winning the world championship and having successfully defended his title ten times, Rocky Balboa appears to have everything in life including a beautiful wife and a young son.

Then fearsome new challenger Clubber Lang (Mr T before he became a star in The A-Team) appears on the scene – a boxer so ruthless that Rocky is advised to retire rather than meet him in the ring.

Lang takes Sylvester Stallone’s championship crown and Rocky then battles to reclaim it.

By now the written-directed-by-and-starring-Sylvester-Stallone formula was starting to look stale, although more sequels were to follow this tired effort.
