    Tomorrow Never Dies (1997)

Pierce Brosnan dons his tuxedo for his second outing as 007 in Tomorrow Never Dies.

His nemesis this time around is media mogul Elliot Carver, played by English thespian Jonathan Pryce. Carver plans to trigger a war between China and the West to boost the fortunes of his satellite news service “Tomorrow”.

Director Roger Spottiswoode takes few risks with the tried-and-tested Bond formula of fast cars, double-entendres and exotic locations.

Dame Judi Dench adds a brisk nineties flavour as M, the head of British Intelligence. Teri Hatcher co-stars as the expendable love interest.

Hong Kong martial arts star Michelle Yeoh outshines everyone as take-no-prisoners Chinese agent Wai Lin who is equally determined to avert a world war.
