Delusional revolutionary Malcolm Scrawdyke (John Hurt) leads his Party of Dynamic Erection in an enraged battle against an unseen nemesis in this chilling dark comedy.
Scrawdyke is an impotent ranter, a plotter of outrages that never come to fruition but whose sense of injustice feeds a series of increasingly alarming acts.
The story is laden with the bleak awareness that, in the era of the Baader-Meinhof terrorist group, disillusionment with student rebellion had already spawned dozens of little Malcolm’s wedded to the bomb and the bullet.
Financed by George Harrison (who formed HandMade Films for the purpose) and based on the celebrated stage play by David Halliwell, Little Malcolm and his Struggle Against the Eunuchs was shot in wintry Oldham by director Stuart Cooper (Overlord) and cinematographer John Alcott (A Clockwork Orange).
