Vietnam veteran and Colorado melon grower Vince Majestyk (Charles Bronson) just wants to harvest his watermelons and live in peace on his farm. But small-time protection-racket thug Bobby Kopas (Paul Koslo) has different ideas.
When his Mexican workers are threatened, Mr Majestyk decides to lend them a hand, earning him a spell in the slammer where he encounters menacing mob hit-man Frank Renda (Al Lettieri).
The men become involved in a violent (failed) attempt by the mob to free their hit-man and when Majestyk tries to turn Renda in himself, he arouses the perpetual wrath of the killer.
After considerable violence, it all culminates in a 20-minute off-road car chase where Majestyk and his Mexican girlfriend, Nancy Chavez (Linda Cristal,) try to escape from Renda and his thugs, and a cat-and-mouse shoot-out.
