When terrorists threaten to blow up two North Sea oil rigs if their demands are not met, an eccentric anti-terrorism expert – who is also a cat fancier and a misogynist – volunteers his unique commando unit (the “ffolkes ffusiliers”) to stop them.
Anthony Perkins plays Kramer, the twitchy terrorist mastermind who wants £25 million from the British Government to spare the oil rigs. The Prime Minister (Faith Brook) doesn’t agree.
Roger Moore is Rufus Excalibur ffolkes, the whiskey-swilling underwater expert who leads his men into battle with Kramer and his evil gang.
James Mason has a supporting role as Admiral Brinsden, whose slow grasp of the situation makes him the perfect foil for ffolkes’ decisive commands.
It’s a rough, tough film full of woolly jumpers and even woollier Norwegian accents (“vot is it yoo are vaunting from oos?”).
