Rudi Petrovyan (Lewis Fiander), a Russian ballet star, decides to defect to the West in this follow-up to Not Now Darling (1973). So many complications and mix-ups occur that in the end, he changes his mind.
Packed with mistaken identities, assumed names, confusion, double-takes and triple entendres, this uproarious British film – adapted from the stage farce Chase Me Comrade by Ray Cooney (who appears in the film as Mr Laver and co-directed with Harold Snoad) – features a stellar line-up including comedy veterans Leslie Phillips, Roy Kinnear, June Whitfield, Ian Lavender, Windsor Davies and Don Estelle, and the gorgeous Carol Hawkins (The Fenn Street Gang) as London stripper Barbara, with whom Rudi decides to take refuge
