Satan’s Sadists (1969)

The Satans are a very cruel biker gang led by Anchor (Russ Tamblyn).

The gang stop at a diner in the middle the California desert and begin to terrorise Lew (Kent Taylor), his waitress, Tracy (Jacquline Cole) and their patrons.

After a little killing, one of the patrons named Johnny (Gary Kent) – an ex-Marine back from Vietnam – manages to escape with Tracy into the desert trying to reach a town before the Satans catch up to them and kill them.

Shot in just eight days, the film was made at the Spahn Movie Ranch in Simi Valley, California, at the same time Charles Manson and his “family” were living there.

The producers even exploited this fact in their promotional advertising with the lines “wild hippies on a mad murder spree (it’s frightening as the Sharon Tate killing)”,  “filmed on [sic] the actual locations where the Tate murder suspects lived their wild experiences!”, and “so true-to-life it’s almost as if the real killers were cast in this motion picture!”

Russ Tamblyn’s mother hated the film and blamed it for ruining her son’s film career.
