Romantic comedy about ruthless newspaper editor Bob Weston (Tony Curtis) who sets his sights on writing a risqué article about marital and sexual psychologist Dr Helen Gurley Brown (Natalie Wood) – the author of a nationally famous book on the sexual behaviour of single women.
Bob wants to discern if the book has as its basis her personal experience and has to pose as her patient to get his story.
The story henceforth runs into good but standard romantic situation comedy with a great cast including Henry Fonda and Lauren Bacall.
