18-year-old hot rod enthusiast Harold Norton (Ben Cooper) is helping his mother at the small-town motel they own when he falls for one of their guests, beautiful singer Lynn Novak (Marla English), who is waiting for her musical combo – Al Kutner (Jan Merlin) and Phil Davis (Nick Adams) – to arrive from Omaha.
In fact, the trio are actually a gang of robbers planning an armoured car robbery with the help of the armoured car driver Carl Johnson (Paul Smith).
The gang enlist the unwitting assistance of Harold as their getaway driver in his souped-up hot rod, but things don’t go to plan as Harold, Lynn, Al, and Phil end up snowed in in an isolated mountaintop weather station with brother and sister Luther (Peter Miller) and Terry Dolgin (Joan Evans).
A battle of wits between the robbers and the hostages ensues.
It’s clearly a cheap production, but the cast members acquit themselves well, and the story moves along at a decent pace.
