Sarah (Eve Whishaw) takes a job as a reporter with a local suburban newspaper in this X-rated pseudo-documentary British sex comedy.
She wonders how she can find the kind of story that will get her to a big-city sheet and decides to write the story of how suburban wives fill the empty hours behind their primly curtained windows while their husbands are away at work – and she finds some juicy samples of their marital infidelity . . .
Jean (Nicola Austine) enjoys the thrill of the chase and the clawing and grabbing of mixed sex with like-minded young marrieds.
Irene (Maggie Wright) wants to help her husband John (Peter May) get ahead in business but gets more than she bargains for when she decides to give his boss (Barry Linehan) what he wants.
Sheila (Claire Gordon) relieves her boredom by gambling on TV races and gets rid of her debts and frustrations with the help of her bookmaker (Paul Antrim).
Kathy (Heather Chasen) uses an audio ploy to outwit her husband (Denys Hawthorne) and take over the job she is sure his secretary (Gabrielle Drake) is currently enjoying.
Yokki (Yokki Rhodes) takes up water skiing and learns other skills from her instructor (Ian Sinclair) in the boathouse, while Carole (Jane Cardew) falls for the old photography game and the photographer (Robin Culver) and is soon posing for blackmail photos (and having fun in bed).
Jill (Sidonie Bond) has a husband (Timothy Parkes) who helps himself to the many au pair girls they have employed over the years, but she and Helene, the maid (Mia Martin), serve him up a real surprise.
Sarah eventually decides that her own sex life can be spiced up by a bordello setting after reading a book called The Essential Sexuality.
With the exception of ‘Kathy’s Story’ – which is nicely timed and beautifully acted by Heather Chasen – the film simply drags despite being heavily laced with doses of nudity and titillation.
