The title says it all – bachelors Ted Danson, Steve Guttenberg and Tom Selleck are left holding the baby, abandoned on their doorstep, and it’s not long before they are knee-deep in bottles, nappies and gooey moments.
The three leads look suitably harassed as they adapt to changing, feeding and burping duties, and director Leonard Nimoy (Mr Spock himself) keeps the comedy and entertainment coming thick and fast.
Based on the French film 3 Men and a Cradle, it’s thoroughly enjoyable family fare.
TRIVIA
Rumours have long persisted that the ghost of a young boy has been spotted in the background of a scene in the film. Some stills do appear to show an eerie figure looking at the actors from behind a curtain. Some even claimed that the phantom was the spirit of a boy who had died in the apartment where the film was shot.
However, the film was shot on a soundstage, and the figure was in fact a cardboard cutout of Ted Danson, which the team had planned to use. But when the specific scene was cut, the prop was left forgotten on set.
