Danny Churchill (Harve Presnell) is a young heir to a vast fortune who tries to help Ginger Gray (Connie Francis), an attractive Pony Express mailwoman in rural Nevada, save her father’s ranch from closing due to being heavily in debt with some Reno gangster types as a result of her father’s compulsive gambling.
With his college friends help, Danny turns Ginger’s father’s ranch into a motel for impending divorcees in order to get out of debt.
Meanwhile, Danny courts Ginger but tries to keep his past reputation a secret while his spiteful gold-digging ex-girlfriend Tess (Sue Ane Langdon) relentlessly pursues him and his wealth.
Peter Noone of Herman’s Hermits has a few lines to stiltedly speak as an “exchange student” as well as performing a tune or two with the band in a nod to the British Invasion. Even more bizarrely, Liberace makes an appearance.
There was evidently some cost-cutting taking place since painted backdrops and blatant sets abound, not convincing anyone and rendering this all the more like a stage show.
