In one of Jack Nicholson’s earliest films, the future superstar plays homicidal hot-rodder Johnny Varron who is fed up with a former pal who has given up the wild life to settle down with his girlfriend Nancy (Georgianna Carter).
Kidnapping the girl, he takes her on a high-speed rampage pursued by the local constabulary.
Like many of Nicholson’s early efforts, this release came out of the Roger Corman low-budget stable and was edited by future cult director Monte Hellman (Two-Lane Blacktop).
It’s obviously a cheap quickie, but it has its own exploitative charm and young Jack looks like he’s having a ball.
