The hedonistic world of black DJs Chris (Valentine Nonyela) and Caz (Mo Sesay) – who operate a pirate radio station called ‘Soul Patrol’ from a tower block in Dalston – is shattered when their close friend TJ (Shyro Chung) is killed in a homophobic murder while cruising in the local park.
The black community suspect the National Front, but the police pull Chris in as a suspect.
The pair find their loyalties and friendship further tested when Chris seeks employment at a commercial radio station and Caz becomes passionately involved with a white punk named Billibud (Jason Durr).
Dealing with an ambitious array of issues from gay-bashing to black sexuality to insidious media racism, the plot is convoluted and confusing, and the acting is generally poor.
