While Mott The Hoople effectively fell apart in 1974 they didn’t officially split until 1976, at which point drummer Dale ‘Buffin’ Griffin, bassist Pete ‘Overend’ Watts and keyboard player Morgan Fisher plus guitarist Ray Major assembled British Lions with ex-Medicine Head singer/guitarist John Fiddler.
The band signed to Vertigo and released two albums but achieved little commercial success.
Griffin died in 2016. Overend Watts passed away in 2017.
