During the immediate post-WWII period, following disputes over music publishing, small record labels proliferated, offering a rich selection of country, jazz and blues.
In the history of rock & roll, the most famous of these was Sun Records, which captured the pure essence of rockabilly in the early recordings of Elvis Presley.
Many other greats passed through the studio in its heyday, including Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Roy Orbison and Charlie Rich.
