A pretty young student called Terry (former ‘Miss America 1959’ Mary Ann Mobley) gets into trouble when she’s exposed as the songwriter of some disreputable – but supposedly groovy – tunes with dirty lyrics.
The revelation endangers her tenure at staid Wyndham College but fortunately, ambitious Senator Hubert Morrison (Willard Waterman) is around to help out – in exchange for some youth “cred” with the voters. Chad Everett costars as the publisher of Terry’s songs and principal drooler over her watusi dance moves.
This would-be fun teen picture is saved by the appearance of a strange melange of musicians, including early Britpoppers The Dave Clark Five and The Animals, lounge chanteuse Astrud Gilberto and cool jazzman Stan Getz.
Oh . . . and Nancy Sinatra is in it.
