Julius LaRosa had a mild career in the 1950s, and here he plays popular teenage ballad singer Tommy Adano, who refuses to sing rock ‘n’ roll and begins to lose his fans.
Tommy finally decides – with the help of his shrewd, though cynical manager, Charlie (Conrad Janis) and hat-check girl and aspiring songwriter Kathy Abbott (Phyllis Newman) – that he must express himself musically in the idiom of his generation.
The music soundtrack – featuring Paul Anka, Della Reese, Wink Martindale, The Royal Teens and Danny and the Juniors – is the only thing of any interest here, although there are also some nice shots of New York’s Central Park in the ’50s.
Released in the UK as Keep It Cool.
