US toy company Larami Corp. of Philadelphia, PA, was founded in 1947 and specialised in inexpensive toys ($0.39 to $0.99).
Their toys were cheap (they were mostly made in Hong Kong or Japan) and intended for impulse purchase (they were attractively presented and packaged to kids) and could usually be found in convenience and grocery stores, often hanging on carousel stands.
Toys were usually based on TV shows and movies – with the licensed characters generally only featured on the packaging or occasionally on a decal on the toy.
Perhaps Larami’s biggest claim to fame was the Super Soaker water gun.
