This BBC series revolved around Bill Pierce (6′ 4″ American film actor Wayne Morris), a public relations officer-cum-store detective in a large London department store who was always on hand when things went wrong behind the scenes.

It seemed that working in this particular London store was fraught with every conceivable danger. You were likely to be robbed, murdered or blackmailed every day, and only Bill Pierce could save you . . .

Pamela Thomas played Bill’s secretary, John Maclaren was the store doctor, Philip Vickers was head of the store, and George Street was the credit manager. Robert Raglan was Inspector Wyatt of Scotland Yard.

Guest stars included Nicholas Parsons, William Mervyn, Bill Nagy, Joan Benham, Shelagh Fraser, Hugh Latimer, Digby Wolfe, Geoffrey Denton, and Christopher Sandford.

Trinity Films made the series for Anglo-American broadcast at Twickenham Studios.
