Debuting on 15 July 1951, this Sunday evening comedy game show from CBS – the summer replacement for This is Show Business – gave contestants the challenge of identifying an activity (fishing, bowling, burping a baby etc) by asking questions of the host, Jan Murray.
The studio audience and viewers at home had seen what the activity was, and the host would only answer “yes” or “no” to the questions.
Each contestant worked with a team of two celebrities, the three of them trying to narrow the subject down until they could identify the activity. Small prizes were awarded for guessing correctly within a short time limit.
The series aired until 2 September 1951.
Jan Murray (born Murray Janofsky) died in Beverly Hills, California, on 2 July 2006, aged 89.
