The “Hollywood” in the title of this Chicago production – which alternated weekly on NBC with The Magic Slate on Sunday afternoons – referred to its sponsor, Hollywood Candy Company.
Art Jacobson starred as the ringmaster, with Paul Barnes as Buffo the Clown.
When the show moved to Saturday mornings on ABC in 1951, it got a new ringmaster (Paul Barnes) and a new Buffo (George Cisar).
The set had children in the bleachers being interviewed with the performers, and Zero the Midget (Max Bournstein) did commercials for the advertiser between circus acts.
The ABC show alternated weekly with several other series during its run except between 27 October 1951 and 27 January 1952, when it appeared every week.
