This filmed dramatic-anthology series from CBS aired on alternate Fridays with Schlitz Playhouse between October 1958 and July 1959.
Content ranged from light comedies to romance to melodrama, and better-known performers generally participated, with Polly Bergen and Rod Taylor in the premiere presentation “The Best House in the Valley” – about a sharecropper’s pretty widow who lives with her daughter in a treehouse – on 3 October 1958.
Other presentations included “Drive a Desert Road” with Barry Nelson and Audrey Totter, “The Four” starring Anne Baxter, “Stand-in for Murder” starring Jan Sterling, and “The Miss and Missiles” with Gisele Mackenzie and John Forsythe.
