78 x 25 minute episodes
This early science fiction anthology series presented an insight into the problems man will face as he ventures forth to unravel the mysteries of science and nature.
Notable stories included: Time Is Just a Place, where futuristic time travellers Ted (Warren Stevens) and Ann Heller (Peggy O’Connor) illegally escape from their time and attempt to establish a life in a 1950s American town; Gravity Zero, relating the efforts of two scientists (Lisa Gaye and Percy Helton) to discover a method for neutralizing gravity; The Legend of Carter Mountain, the story of a schoolteacher (Marilyn Erskine) who is confronted by three students who possess the power to move objects by thought; and The Dark Side, following the efforts of an astronomer (Skip Homeier) to construct a telescopic camera that is capable of photographing the dark side of the moon.
The first season was filmed in colour as the producers thought that the adoption of colour TV would be much faster than it was. The second season was filmed in black & white.
