Australia’s first TV sitcom and the first in the long line of Crawford drama productions, Take That was a simple schoolroom comedy (roughly based on a radio series called Yes, What?), with the wily students (Irene Hewitt, Frank Rich, Keith Eden and Joff Ellen) forever getting the better of their harassed schoolmaster (Philip Stainton).
Although it was long believed that the series was broadcast live to air from the HSV-7 studios, it was later discovered that at least some of the episodes were kinescoped for transmission, making the exact number of episodes produced unknown, although the series itself was on air for 70 weeks, broadcast on Saturday afternoons.
