This six-part science-fiction thriller from ATV aired on Saturday nights in 1956 and featured unexplained disappearances and gruesome deaths among climbers of the grim Trollenberg Mountain in Switzerland.
Ann Pilgrim (New Zealand actress Rosemary Miller) – an English woman who has a psychic stage act with her sister, Sarah (Sarah Lawson) – receives a premonition of great danger associated with the mountain.
Meanwhile, an observatory detects a cloud on the mountainside which gives off radioactive readings and never moves. As the cloud starts to move down the mountain, killing people along the way, the astronomers realise they are dealing with an invasion of aliens who have come from a dying world and have selected the cold Alpine mountain as the environment which most resembles their home planet.
