This series of six-minute shorts was sold as an alternative to cartoons for locally hosted kiddie television programs in the US.
Each episode starred comedian Doodles Weaver (born Winstead Weaver in 1911) in a first-person plural adventure (“Today we are a movie actor”, “We have a job helping the gas station man”), portraying himself and all the other characters (with the aid of false moustaches and costume hats) in slapstick comedy situations with a player-piano soundtrack and stilted voice-over narration (also from Weaver).
Weaver died in January 1983 at his Burbank, California home of two self-inflicted gunshot wounds to the chest. He was 71. His death was ruled a suicide.
