The shows – featuring a combination of stand-up monologue with Frankie looking into the camera and speaking directly to the viewer, and situation comedy introduced when Frankie flashed back, employing actors to illustrate what happened – were written by comedy greats Ray Galton and Alan Simpson (pictured with Frankie below).
