This anthology format from Rediffusion (produced by Stella Richman) provided well-known writers and new talent alike the opportunity to contribute new stand-alone thirty-minute dramas for ITV.
The debut story, ‘Shelter’ was written by Alun Owen. Later presentations included ‘Myself, I’ve Got Nothing Against South Ken’ by Julian Bond, ‘Between Men’ by Doris Lessing, ‘Which of These Two Ladies Is He Married To?’ by Edna O’Brien and ‘Venus Rising’ and ‘The 45th Unmarried Mother’, both by Fay Weldon.
Stars of the 38 half-hour stories included Glenda Jackson, George Cole, Felicity Kendal, Angela Baddeley, Mike Pratt, Wendy Craig, Liz Gebhardt, Paul Eddington, Annette Andre, Bob Monkhouse, Adrienne Posta, Jane Asher, Leonard Rossiter, Dennis Waterman, Frank Windsor, Tony Selby, Wilfred Pickles, Freddie Jones, Annette Crosbie, Ronald Fraser, Colin Blakely, Sylvia Syms, Ian Lavender, Talfryn Thomas, Angela Douglas and Georgina Hale.
