    Broadcast on Christmas Day 1968, the BBC’s annual Christmas pantomime this year starred Leslie Crowther (in his first panto) as Humpty Dumpty and Reg Varney as Simple Simon.  Lynda Baron was the principal boy, playing Tommy Tucker.

    Sally Smith (who had appeared as Cinderella in the previous year’s BBC Christmas Day panto) costarred as Mary Mary.

    The cast was assisted by The George Mitchell Singers and The Roy Gunson Dancers.
