This Channel 7 (Australia) live pop show hosted by Billy Thorpe and The Aztecs debuted on 20 March 1966 and aired at 5.00 pm on Sunday afternoons before the news.
Surrounded by stark geometric sets and dancing go-go girls, host Billy Thorpe introduced guests such as MPD Limited, Ray Brown and The Whispers, Max Merritt and the Meteors, Little Pattie, Laurel Lea, Merv Benton, Lynne Randell, The Twilights, Ronnie Burns, Bobby and Laurie, Digger Revell, The Bee Gees, Jeff St John and The Id, Yvonne Barrett, The Purple Hearts, Dinah Lee, The Throb, Python Lee Jackson, Noeleen Batley and The Allusions from the ATN 7 studios in Epping, Sydney.
British singer Helen Shapiro also appeared for three weeks.
Post and pre-recording were thrown out in favour of live sound and performances with the result being lively imperfection which appealed greatly to the teenage audience at home.
The final show aired on Sunday 11 December.
