Although the immensely talented comedian Jonathan Winters frequently appeared as a guest star on many popular TV variety and talk shows he only starred in one, relatively short-lived, show of his own.
All of Winters’ familiar characters appeared on The Jonathan Winters Show, including Maud Frickert, Willard (in the ‘Couple Up The Street’ sketches), and Jack Armstrong, the All-American Boy.
Appearing with Winters were Abby Dalton and Dick Curtis, and – at various times – Alice Ghostley, Pamela Rodgers, Paul Lynde, Georgene Barnes, Jerry Rannow, Cliff Arquette, the Bob Banas Dancers, the Tony Charmoli Dancers, the Wisa D’Orso Dancers and the Paul Weston and Earl Brown Orchestras.
In 1972 Winters appeared in a syndicated series called The Wacky World of Jonathan Winters which did not remain on the air long. This series also featured Marion Mercer and the Soul Sisters.
In 1980 Winters became a semi-regular on the popular Mork & Mindy series, playing Mork’s full-grown son, Mearth.
